While driving your vehicle anywhere in the state of South Carolina, it is the responsibility of the driver to be alert for emergency vehicles. When an emergency vehicle approaches your car from any direction, it is the drivers responsibility to pull your car to the right side of the road as quickly and safely as possible, and STOP. All emergency vehicle operators are trained to pass on the left side of traffic. By doing this, you can ensure the safety of yourself, the emergency personnel, and the persons whom have called for help.
